Candice and Tanis Day off!

Well the great thing about living in Florida and working for Disney World is that you can visit the parks on any day with no trouble or planning involved. Today Tanis and I had the day off so we did just that. We made reservations at The Hollywood Brown Derby which we heard was good and headed to MGM Studios. We had lunch, watched some of High School Musical on stage and then rode the front of Aerosmith's Rockin Roller Coaster! It was great!, one of those cloudy days where the parks are empty. We didnt have to wait in line.

For dinner tonight we went to JIKO at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. This is my favorite restaurant in all of Disney World. Tanis and I shared a salad and flatbread, filet mignon and African chicken. For dessert they brought us Pistacchio Chocolate Creme Brulee among other goodies. So good!!!!!

P.S. Tommorrow I am graduating from Disney World. Sounds crazy I know! All of us who arrived in February and March get to go for a fancy breakfast and celebration at the Contemporary resort. Even our Boss Mickey Mouse will be there to shake our hand! Should be fun! After, its off to Epcot for some drinking around the world!

Steph's Rage about US healthcare!

I thought this was pretty funny! Considering I am sick right now, and since I didn't extend my Health insurance this month (haven't gotten to it yet really) I decided to get better on my own without antibiotics or a trip to the Doctor. Forking out $200 so the doctor can agree with me that I am sick just didn't seem worth it. Check out Steph's Blog! where she writes about being proud to be Canadian!

Washington DC!

Just got back from a trip to Washington DC. It was great! We saw the Capitol, The Washington Monument, The Library of Congress, The White House, Georgetown University, The Hope Diamond and many famous pieces of art in the National Art Gallery. We stayed in Georgetown where there were lots of restaurants and shops. We took the Metro train everywhere! It wasn't cold until the last day or so, then I became sick, and I'm home sick from work today blogging and watching tv! :(

More D.C...

We saw many memorials while in Washington. The Lincoln Memorial, World War II Memorial, Korean War memorial, Vietnam War Memorial, and the Jefferson Memorial to name a few.
Seeing the Hope Diamond was amazing! This neclace is kept in a glass case in the Museum of Natural History. It is now worth over $300 million dollars! We also went to Ford's Theatre where President Lincoln was shot while watching a play from the balcony. From the top of the Washington Monument we could see the whole mall, including the Whitehouse and the Capitol Building. I took a picture next to each state I have visited. During this trip I went to District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia. They are very close to each other. One day we took the Metro to Maryland to have lunch, 10 minutes away.

Georgetown

Georgetown University is the oldest and one of the most established Universities in the Country. It was beautiful! Gary had never been to an American college before so he found it especially interesting!

My Busy week !

I have been a workoholic lately and have not had anytime to post. Last week a bunch of Canadians and Uk's went to Cowboys for One dollar beers. It was lots of fun! On Sunday me and my roomates, and Chris (Jo's boyfriend) went out for dinner to Seasons 52, it was really nice! Last night after working 3 twelve hour shifts Justin and I went for half price appies at Planet Hollywood. We rode his bike back and I almost froze to death. It is getting much colder here in Florida! Tonight Tanis and I went to the Mall at Millenia and had our favorite lettuce wraps from the Cheesecake Factory after shopping at Forever 21. We talked about how crazy fast this year has gone by and how we are both leaving soon. Tommorrow morning Gary and I leave for Washington, DC! I am off to see the Nation's Capital. More adventures to come!!!

Happy New Year!

New Years Eve was really fun! Epcot had probably 70 thousand people in the park and it was crazy! We were given hats and noise makers and the fireworks were amazing! Every country had their own countdown and celebration, including Canada! Italy and China had disco's set up with dj's and strobe lights. We drank half yards of stella from the UK and later had rose regale champagne from Italy! Happy New Year everyone!
