They're here!

The day my family arrived, I had the day off so I checked into the resort and explored around a bit. Went to the pool, layed in a hammock and looked around the shops. I was buying a water in the gift shop when my mom came from behind me and totally surprised me. It was so good to see my family after 4 months. We went for dinner at Boma in the Amimal Kingdom Lodge! It was excellent! In the morning we went to the pool and then to Animal Kingdom where we rode "Everest" - the Forbidden Mountain. It was awesome, since it was Extra Magic Hours, the park was open til 10pm for those staying in a disney resort. Riding Everest at night in the front was the best ever!!!!

Last night went to Downtown disney and out for dinner at Raglan Road Irish pub in Pleasure Island.

My Family is coming!!!

Only 2 days left until my Mom, Dad, and brother arrive. I am so excited to see them, it has been almost 4 months. They are staying for 2 weeks and my uncle and cousin are coming too for the second week. Here are some pictures of the disney resorts we are staying at. I can't wait to lounge by the pool and go the the parks for extra magic hours!

The Extreme Room makeover!!!

Over the last few days Alicia and I have been cleaning our room. It has been a multi-day project because we are always working or too busy. It was a terrible mess and we decided to take a before and after picture. It looks great now but what a disaster it was!!!

*MIAMI*

Miami was unbelievable! I had such an amazing time!!! We did so many things that the two days we spent there were jam packed with excitement! We took so many great pictures that it is so hard to choose which ones to blog...

Our hotel was covered in oil pantings just like this one. So colourful!

We stayed at a hotel in South Beach called the Clay Hotel. It is also used as a hostel. The location was excellent, just a walk from the beach and shopping, and was right above Espanola way which is full of little shops and restaurants. It is very busy throughout the day and at night.
Espanola street and our hotel during the day.

South Beach

I convinced Alicia to head straight to the beach, which Heidi and Angela went to check out Miami Ink tattoo parlour from the hit T.V. show.
I Love the Beach!
Entering the beach...
South Beach shopping!

Lincoln Street in South Beach

Lincoln street is the pedestrian only road which stretchea for many blocks. It is full of shops, restaurants, bars and outdoor patios. There are little boutiques as well as big names like Victoria Secret. Everyone is trying to get you to eat at their place and will offer free drinks, free appetizers, you name it! Alicia and I stopped for a drink and later met up with the girls after shopping for and Italian dinner. The food was so good and they brought us a free bottle of wine. I know... crazy hey?!

Club Mansion

So Heidi said that going to Club Mansion is one of her dreams. All the stars hang out there and it is extremely hard to get into. We asked all around town and everyone said it was one of the nicest, biggest, most expensive bars, and the line can take hours. It is featured weekly in US and People as the hotspot in Miami! I could not believe it when we walked up and the bouncer asked "How many". It happened so fast and before we knew it we were inside the nicest club I have ever seen!!! It was beautiful!! Check out their website!
The 40,000 sq ft Mansion Club is frequented by Puff Daddy, J'Lo, Black Eyed Peas, and Jay Z and is decorated with Crystal Chandelliers, sweeping staircases and Venetian mirrors!

Ocean Drive

Yesterday we went to Ocean Drive at Miami Beach. This street is amazing! It is lined with shops and restaurants. The restaurants are amazing and you can find any kind of food. They all have really nice outdoor patios and are very stylish! The streets are lined with Palm Trees, Bentleys and beautiful people and the beach is just across the street! Alicia and I ate lunch and took a million pictures! We also went to Wet Willy's which is a famous patio bar on the strip! Ludacris sings "If you're with me aint no time to sleep, especially at Wet Willys on Miami Beach!" It was so funny because I was really excited and thought about the song right away!!!

Miami Boat Cruise

We went on a boat cruise to the islands off the Coast! It was awesome! The boat took you past all the Stars homes and Millionaires isle. We saw Fisher Island where an apartment goes for over 2 million and there is no road access and a private golf course. Everyone who buys a property gets there own golf cart to drive around the island. It was alot of fun and the houses were beautiful!

Oprah owns a property here on Fisher Island.

Boat Tour Continued...

From top left clockwise here are the magnificent homes of Julio Iglesias, Gloria Estefan, The location of Scarface filming, and the home of Shaquille O'Neil. He had a full basketball court and a mini statue of himself. Too funny!!

Puff Daddy's house~!

Most expensive and biggest property! Worth over 50 million dollars! Crazy!

I loved this oil painting which I found at Bayside arena! I bought a mini version! I love Miami!!!

Red Lobster

Sunday night Alicia took me for dinner at Red Lobster. We walked there and had the most amazing seafood dinner after! Crab legs, lobster, coconut shrimp, shrimp scampi, and ceasar salad and biscuits! We also had Lobsteritas! They were huge and I couldn't even finish mine!

Howl at the Moon

The other night Alicia, Albin and I went to Howl at the Moon on International Drive. It's a dueling piano bar! We drank buckets of Heineken and requested songs all night, which never got played... but we had fun anyways.

The Devil Wears Prada

Last night Tracy, Liz and I went to Downtown Disney to see the movie "The Devil Wears Prada", It was so fun and we all really enjoyed it. It's based on a book about a girl who gets a job at a high fashion magazine as the editor's assistant. It's hilarious and definately a chick flick! It kept me very entertained compared to the last movie I saw "The Lake House" where I fell asleep!

July 4th Shuttle Launch

Yesterday I rented a car and Me, Tanis, Gary and Jon went to watch the Shuttle Launch in Cape Canaveral. It was a big deal and has been all over the news for weeks. After being cancelled twice because of weather conditions, Spaceship Discovery lifted off! It was amazing, we watched it from about 10 miles away at Jetty park! I could not believe I was on the East Coast of Florida watching a shuttle launch to space, on the 4th of July! Everyone was cheering and clapping, I felt very lucky!

After watching the shuttle we headed to Cocoa beach, about 10 minutes away. It was packed there and we had a fun day at the beach. Jon had his waterproof camera so we took a ton of pictures! I love the Beach! This is the Florida I signed up for!!!
