Washington DC!

Just got back from a trip to Washington DC. It was great! We saw the Capitol, The Washington Monument, The Library of Congress, The White House, Georgetown University, The Hope Diamond and many famous pieces of art in the National Art Gallery. We stayed in Georgetown where there were lots of restaurants and shops. We took the Metro train everywhere! It wasn't cold until the last day or so, then I became sick, and I'm home sick from work today blogging and watching tv! :(

More D.C...

We saw many memorials while in Washington. The Lincoln Memorial, World War II Memorial, Korean War memorial, Vietnam War Memorial, and the Jefferson Memorial to name a few.
Seeing the Hope Diamond was amazing! This neclace is kept in a glass case in the Museum of Natural History. It is now worth over $300 million dollars! We also went to Ford's Theatre where President Lincoln was shot while watching a play from the balcony. From the top of the Washington Monument we could see the whole mall, including the Whitehouse and the Capitol Building. I took a picture next to each state I have visited. During this trip I went to District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia. They are very close to each other. One day we took the Metro to Maryland to have lunch, 10 minutes away.

Georgetown

Georgetown University is the oldest and one of the most established Universities in the Country. It was beautiful! Gary had never been to an American college before so he found it especially interesting!
