MY FATHER THE HERO

WOw! I forgot how much I love this movie... It is so funny!! I watched it on tv tonight and enjoyed every minute of it. The story is of a 15 year old girl who goes on vacation with her dad. She wants to impress this boy so she tells him she's with her boyfriend and not her father. Well soon the whole resort thinks her father is a pervert who preys on young girls. It's hilarious because it takes a long time for her dad to find out, and she cant stop making up lies to impress this guy.

Shannon visiting!!

This weekend my friend Shannon who lives in Calgary was here visiting Vancouver with her boyfriend. Last night we went and met them at their hotel and we went to Section3 in Yaletown for dinner. Then later Shannon, Chris, Dino, Charmaine and I went to Skybar and then to Plaza. I had never been to Plaza Club before but I saw so many people that I went to elementary school with. It was really funny and I can't believe I recognized them all...Me and Shannon, so fun to see her, it had been a while!Me, Charmaine, Shannon and Jessica

That's the way life goes...

Life is full of big decisions! I just wish that I wasn't faced with a very big one right now. A couple months ago I was given the opportunity to experience something fantastic that requires me moving away for up to a year. SOmething I had wanted to do for a long time. At the time I was excited and just thought I would worry about the rest when the time came.

Well that time is Coming now, and this decision is all I can think about. When life throughs you curve balls how do you know which way to turn... I thought I had my mind made up but now I cannot help but think of all the what if's...

I know that whatever I decide will end up working out in the end, I just don't want to have any regrets...I think I just have to make a pros and cons list!

1) Working and living for 6 months to a year in Walt Disney World, Florida representing Canada and soaking up the sun and meeting new friends and gaining life experiences...
or
2) Staying here with the ones I love and working here.

I know the choice may seem pretty easy, but already I am having to give things up. The best thing is if I go and I dont like it, I can take the next flight back home! I know I already made my choice but why does it have to be so hard..?

Arrggghhhh!!! Why can't you look into the future and weigh out the options!!

LAst day of my practicum!!

Hooray!!! Today is Friday and it is the last day of my practicum... Which means on Monday if I am working I will be getting paid. It seems like the just the other day we were having a tour of the firm. It went by very fast!! Yesterday Melinee and I sat in on the boardrooms doing some mailouts for the accounting department. I was getting too many papercuts on my fingers so they stole me away to do another job. Poor Melinee had to do that for the rest of the day, and even this morning!!

Just one of those days....

Today was one of those days we all have once and a while, today was my turn. It started out when I had to sprint for the train. I almost missed it this morning, but jumped on just as it started moving. I think I had an asthma attack because I really could not breathe, it was a little scary. When I got back this afternoon I had a ticket on my car (In order to make the train I had no time to validate my stall). Just my luck, they never ever check, but today was the day they did. For the remainder of the day I just felt tired and un-energetic. Any little thing someone said, set me off. I had a good long cry and I have to say I feel much better.

These last two weeks have been alot of changes, early mornings, and less rest, so I guess I just needed to let it all out! Ola called and reminded me that I should take a nice hot bath, have a hot chocolate and go to bed. "The Wedding Planner" is on tv so I think I will do just that.

...And tommorrow is a new day right!?

Downtown at Noon

Today at lunch I dragged Melanie outside for a quick walk by the water. She thought it would be too cold, but it was actually pretty nice. Today was the first day with sun (not rain) where we were able to go outside and enjoy the scenery. Melanie and I infront of the waterfall by our office building.

this bird was enjoying the sunny day as well!

Promise Yourself

I found this on the web today and I liked it! Some good thoughts for today:)
Promise Yourself Today...

To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind .

To think only of the best, to work only for the best and to expect only the best.

To wear a friendly concience at all times and give every living creature you meet a smile.

To spend so much time improving yourself that you have no time left to criticize others.

Long Week Ahead...

So I am lying here enjoying my last couple hours of relaxment until I go to sleep for a short time before I have to get up bright and early and start my day. I am watching Desperate Housewives and thinking about everything I have to do this week. Tommorrow I think I will vote! Tuesday my parents come home from Vegas, and Wednesday I have to pick up a package from the States. Theses are just a couple things I am thinking about... It's funny because I am already looking forward to next weekend.

New World - Disaster!

Last night Ola and I went to join a bunch of friends at the movie theatre to take in a movie "The New World". It was not our pick, but we went anyways to join everyone seeing a movie that apparently got very good reviews.

Well... I fell asleep 15 minutes in (must have been my long week at work). The movie was so boring with subtitles and a bunch of indians running around yelling. It is supposed to be the real story of Pochahontos but I saw little resemblence. So we ended up leaving the movie (the other guys stayed) and on our way out the manager was so nice to give us free movie coupons for next time. The others also commented after how bad the movie was.

It has been a while since Ive given a bad review, I tend to love most movies I go see!

Scrapbooking

Tonight I finished my Hawaii scrapbook. It is so much fun to do, I worked on it while I watched TV. Here are a couple of the pages. It's great because when Im older I will have scrapbooks full of memories not boxes full of unorganized pictures. Yes I am thinking ahead!

The Bachelor

I have to admit I have a love for this show. I have been a faithful viewer since the beginning (came out with "Survivor"). My mom and I love our Monday night Bachelor nights, this show is so funny! This season the Bachelor a doctor named Travis. Whether they find true love or not, it is so fun to watch these crazy women (who have had too much champagne) battle it out over this one guy.

Working girl

Well I am officially working at a large law firm! For the next two weeks I will be doing my practicum downtown. Long commutes, dress pants, and business meetings will be in my plans for the next while. It is quite exciting actually and I can't wait to put my skills to work!

Makena Beach

Went to Big Beach (Makena). This is one of my favorite beaches, you can walk over this lava rock hill over to Little Beach which is also nice. Every Sunday all the hippies come to Makena (little beach) to play music and fire dance.

Fish!

There were some divers that were spearfishing this morning at Big Beach. They caught these fish and octopus. The guy also told me that he saw 2 white tail sharks out there when diving close to shore.

Snorkeling pictures from Hanauma

Lisa just emailed me these snorkeling pictures Quentin and I took with the underwater camera we bought! The fish we saw in Oahu at Hanauma bay were amazing! I wish the pictures showed how colourful and beautiful the fish were. You just have to trust me! :)

Getting ready for the sunset

I decided to take a video clip of the sunset tonight from my digital camera. If you close your eyes, sometimes the sun can drop and you can miss the sunset! Posted by Picasa

Here is Chris showing off at sunset with a handstand. Posted by Picasa

riding in the back

I rode in the back of Jon's mustang. I love driving in convertibles in Hawaii. The views are amazing and the wind is not too cold. We went to the other side of the island, where we stopped in the surfing town of "Paia" and ate burgers. Posted by Picasa

Waterfall Pictures

I felt like I was in the movie "The Blue Lagoon". Jon (Chris's friend from when he lived here) took us to this waterfall not many people know about. The water was crystal clear but kinda cold. It was great!! Posted by Picasa
